This book was given to me by the author in
exchange for a honest review. I would like to point out, this is (as always) my
humble opinion. Not everyone will agree.
I have always been fascinated by Egypt, by
the old Pharaohs, their beliefs, and when I heard that this book was about a
hidden chamber in the Great Sphinx, I was excited. This plot screamed adventure
to me.
Unfortunately, I have to say, I got
disappointed. I’ll try and explain.
I had trouble with keeping track of the
timeline, it was jumping too much. One minute it was one day, the next several
weeks must have gone by, but according to the story, it was still same day, but
an event who wasn’t supposed to happen until much later, just occurred… And it didn’t happen just once, but several
times through the story.
The story telling and dialog was very
choppy. Short sentences, many things being repetitive, there weren’t really a
flow to her story. Well, except when it came to when she told about Egypt, or
their history. Then it was much, much better. The flow of the story improved,
and it didn’t feel as pushed/rushed.
